If you already feel comfortable conjugating regular verbs in the present tense that end in -ar, -er or -ir, then it\u2019s time to learn stem-changing verbs! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 son los verbos que cambian de ra\u00edz?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En primer lugar, debemos repasar las partes de un verbo. Los verbos en infinitivo son la forma b\u00e1sica de un verbo. Tienen dos partes: la ra\u00edz y la terminaci\u00f3n. La terminaci\u00f3n son las dos \u00faltimas letras del verbo, que pueden ser -ar, -er o -ir, y la ra\u00edz es el resto del verbo. Por ejemplo <em>e<\/em> cambios en <em>es decir<\/em> en la ra\u00edz de ese tipo de verbo. Sin embargo, las formas nosotros y vosotros no cambian en absoluto, y las ra\u00edces siguen siendo las mismas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ejemplo de verbos con cambio de ra\u00edz e-&gt; ie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos verbos tienen un cambio de ra\u00edz en <em>yo, t\u00fa, \u00e9l, ella, usted, ellos, ellas <\/em>y <em>vosotros. <\/em>Algunos verbos que entran en esta categor\u00eda son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Querer<\/strong>\u2013 <em>querer<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Pensar<\/strong>\u2013 <em>pensar<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Perder<\/strong>\u2013 <em>perder<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Preferir<\/strong>\u2013 <em>preferir<\/em>r<\/li><li><strong>Entender<\/strong>\u2013 <em>para comprender<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take <em>querer<\/em>por ejemplo. Las seis formas de <em>querer <\/em>son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qu<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">es decir<\/span><\/strong>ro, qu<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">es decir<\/span><\/strong>res, qu<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">es decir<\/span><\/strong>re, queremos, quer\u00e9is, qu<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">es decir<\/span><\/strong>ren<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, the stem change doesn\u2019t happen in <em>nosotros<\/em> o <em>vosotros<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ejemplos de e-&gt;i<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos verbos son muy parecidos a los de la primera categor\u00eda, salvo que el <em>e<\/em> cambia a un <em>i<\/em>no un <em>es decir<\/em>. They also don\u2019t change in <em>nosotros<\/em> y <em>vosotros<\/em>. Algunos ejemplos de estos verbos son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pedir<\/strong>\u2013 <em>pedir, solicitar<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Competir<\/strong>\u2013 <em>competir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Repite<\/strong>\u2013 <em>repetir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Servir<\/strong>\u2013 <em>para servir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Vestir<\/strong>\u2013 <em>para vestir<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take a closer look at <em>pedir<\/em>. Sus seis formas son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span><\/strong>do, p<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span><\/strong>des, p<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span><\/strong>de, pedimos, ped\u00eds, p<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span><\/strong>den<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ejemplos de o-&gt;ue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En lugar de cambiar un <em>e<\/em> en la ra\u00edz, estos verbos cambian la <em>o <\/em>a <em>ue<\/em>.
