Welcome back to Vocabulario Viernes! Today, we\u2019re continuing our vocabulary about the calendar in Spanish. If you haven\u2019t seen it yet, check out of our last Vocabulario Viernes<\/a> sobre los d\u00edas de la semana. Meses- meses <\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfRecuerdas que los d\u00edas de la semana no se escriben en may\u00fascula en espa\u00f1ol? Lo mismo ocurre con los meses. Si te fijas bien, ver\u00e1s que muchos de ellos son muy parecidos a su significado en ingl\u00e9s. Esperemos que as\u00ed te resulte m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil recordarlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Preguntar y decir la fecha en espa\u00f1ol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Ahora que conocemos los d\u00edas de la semana, podemos combinarlos, los n\u00fameros y los meses para preguntar y decir la fecha. En primer lugar, para preguntar a alguien qu\u00e9 d\u00eda es, podemos preguntar, \u201cCu\u00e1l es la fecha de hoy?\u201d<\/em> Tambi\u00e9n puedes o\u00edrla abreviada, simplemente preguntando, \u201c\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la fecha?\u201d<\/em> \u00a1Ojo! Notice how we use the palabra clave<\/a> cu\u00e1l <\/em>en lugar de qu\u00e9<\/em> en esta frase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There\u2019s a handy formula to state the date: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    el <\/strong>______ de<\/strong> _______<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the first space, we will say the number of the date. In the second space, we will say the month. Did you notice that it\u2019s flipped from in English? In English, I would say \u201cJuly 22\u201d where the month comes before the number. In Spanish, it\u2019s the opposite. I would say \u201cel 22 de julio.\u201d Remember, months are lower case!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now, let\u2019s put it together in a full sentence. To say \u201cIt\u2019s July 22\u201d you would use the verb \u201ces\u201d<\/em>, so you would say \u201cEs el 22 de julio.\u201d If you want to be extra specific, you could say \u201cHoy es el 22 de julio.\u201d Practice with your friends or classmates because every day is a new opportunity to say a new phrase!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
