Welcome back to Vocabulario Viernes! Today, we\u2019re continuing our vocabulary about the calendar in Spanish. Meses- mois <\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Te souviens-tu que les jours de la semaine ne prennent pas de majuscule en espagnol ? Il en va de m\u00eame pour les mois ! Si tu regardes bien, tu verras que beaucoup d'entre eux sont tr\u00e8s similaires \u00e0 leur signification en anglais. Esp\u00e9rons que cela te permettra de t'en souvenir plus facilement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Demander et dire la date en espagnol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Maintenant que nous connaissons les jours de la semaine, nous pouvons les combiner avec les chiffres et les mois pour demander et dire la date. Tout d'abord, pour demander \u00e0 quelqu'un quel jour nous sommes, nous pouvons demander , \u201cCu\u00e1l es la fecha de hoy?\u201d<\/em> Tu peux aussi l'entendre abr\u00e9g\u00e9, en demandant simplement, \u201c\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la fecha?\u201d<\/em> \u00a1Ojo! Notice how we use the mot de la question<\/a> cu\u00e1l <\/em>au lieu de qu\u00e9<\/em> dans cette phrase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There\u2019s a handy formula to state the date: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    el <\/strong>______ de<\/strong> _______<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the first space, we will say the number of the date. In the second space, we will say the month. Did you notice that it\u2019s flipped from in English? In English, I would say \u201cJuly 22\u201d where the month comes before the number. In Spanish, it\u2019s the opposite. I would say \u201cel 22 de julio.\u201d Remember, months are lower case!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now, let\u2019s put it together in a full sentence. To say \u201cIt\u2019s July 22\u201d you would use the verb \u201ces\u201d<\/em>, so you would say \u201cEs el 22 de julio.\u201d If you want to be extra specific, you could say \u201cHoy es el 22 de julio.\u201d Practice with your friends or classmates because every day is a new opportunity to say a new phrase!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
