There are lots of words in English that have<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prefix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> pr\u00e9fixes suppl\u00e9mentaires<\/a> or suffixes, but contain a much simpler word. For example, the word \u201cpreview\u201d contains the word \u201cview\u201d, but it has the little word \u201cpre-\u201d as its suffix. These little words can help us understand more complicated words because they give us context. In Spanish, verbs derived from \u201ctener\u201d may seem intimidating, but they\u2019ll really expand your vocabulary and help you articulate yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">R\u00e9vision - conjugaison du verbe <em>tener<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re going to look at 3 types of verb conjugations for the verb tener. If you haven\u2019t learned all of them yet, don\u2019t fret! Just focus on the first one, the present tense. C'est la forme du pass\u00e9 que nous utilisons pour les actions habituelles pass\u00e9es, ou les actions qui n'ont pas de d\u00e9but ou de fin pr\u00e9cis. C'est l'un des verbes dont le radical se transforme compl\u00e8tement dans toutes les formes en <em>tuv-<\/em>. You\u2019ll notice that each of the following verbs contains <em>tener<\/em>. In English, these words tend to have \u201c-<em>tain<\/em>\u201d in them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Contener<\/strong>\u2013 <em>pour contenir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>D\u00e9tenteur<\/strong>\u2013 <em>d\u00e9tenir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Mantener<\/strong>\u2013 <em>pour maintenir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Obtenir<\/strong>\u2013 <em>pour obtenir<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Sostener<\/strong>\u2013 <em>pour soutenir<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour conjuguer ces verbes, tu les conjugues exactement comme tu le ferais pour le verbe <em>tener<\/em>, just with the extra portion of the verb at the front. For example, to say \u201cI contain\u201d, I would conjugate the verb \u201c<em>contengo\u201d<\/em>.
