Welcome back to Vocabulario Viernes! Today, we\u2019re continuing our vocabulary about the calendar in Spanish. Meses- mesi <\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ti ricordi che i giorni della settimana non sono maiuscoli in spagnolo? Lo stesso vale per i mesi! Se guardi bene, vedrai che molti di essi sono molto simili al loro significato in inglese. Speriamo che questo ti renda pi\u00f9 facile ricordarlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Chiedere e dire la data in spagnolo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Ora che conosciamo i giorni della settimana, possiamo combinarli con i numeri e i mesi per chiedere e dire la data. Innanzitutto, per chiedere a qualcuno che giorno \u00e8, possiamo chiedere, \u201cCu\u00e1l es la fecha de hoy?\u201d<\/em> Potresti anche sentirlo abbreviato, semplicemente chiedendo, \u201c\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la fecha?\u201d<\/em> \u00a1Ojo! Notice how we use the parola domanda<\/a> cu\u00e1l <\/em>invece di qu\u00e9<\/em> in questa frase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There\u2019s a handy formula to state the date: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    el <\/strong>______ de<\/strong> _______<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the first space, we will say the number of the date. In the second space, we will say the month. Did you notice that it\u2019s flipped from in English? In English, I would say \u201cJuly 22\u201d where the month comes before the number. In Spanish, it\u2019s the opposite. I would say \u201cel 22 de julio.\u201d Remember, months are lower case!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now, let\u2019s put it together in a full sentence. To say \u201cIt\u2019s July 22\u201d you would use the verb \u201ces\u201d<\/em>, so you would say \u201cEs el 22 de julio.\u201d If you want to be extra specific, you could say \u201cHoy es el 22 de julio.\u201d Practice with your friends or classmates because every day is a new opportunity to say a new phrase!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
