Add More Spanish to Your Daily Routine

Just because you don’t live in a Spanish-speaking country doesn’t mean you can’t add Spanish to your daily routine. You can add as much or as little Spanish as you want! The more you practice on your own, the better your speaking, reading, writing and listening skills will be. Taking Spanish classes online is a great way to learn, but adding Spanish to your daily routine is one of the best ways to practice what you learn.

Reading skills

If you want to improve your reading skills, adding more texts in Spanish throughout your day can be helpful. You can sign up for a word of the day in Spanish where you get a new word every day sent straight to your email. If you’re in the habit of reading a book every day, opt for a novel at your level in Spanish. In addition, you can check out Spanish news websites to get your news in Spanish.

Listening skills

Thanks to the internet, there is an endless amount of sources to practice listening every day in Spanish. Most regions have access to a radio station in Spanish where you can hear music and conversations. You can also listen to playlists on a music streaming platform in your favorite genre. As you’re driving to work, taking a shower, cleaning or going for a walk, you can jam out to Spain Top 50, or listen to Spanish language podcasts at your level.

Speaking skills

Writing skills

Even if you don’t have someone to write to, there are ways you can practice your writing skills as part of your daily routine. Did you know that reading more helps improve your writing ability? Reading and writing are connected! By practicing reading, you’re also improving your writing without even thinking about it. You can write a blog that only you can see, or you can practice writing with a classmate. If conjugation and spelling are difficult, you’re able to use online games in Spanish to practice those specific skills. Since you’re playing, it’s a great way to relax while practicing.

Do you have other ideas to help include more Spanish in your daily routine? Which of these are your favorites? Let us know in the comments!
