Research suggests<\/a> that by shifting your mindset, you\u2019re more likely to to be resilient to challenging situations. This applies to all aspects of your life, but here, we\u2019ll talk about it regarding language learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning a language is filled with excitement and opportunities, as well as new cultures to explore. It\u2019s a way to make new friends and see the world in a new way. However, it can quickly start to feel overwhelming, scary, and maybe even impossible. You might start telling yourself, \u201cI\u2019m just not a language person!\u201d That couldn\u2019t be farther from the truth. In order to learn a language, you have to produce language. This means that at some point, you\u2019re going to have to step out of your comfort zone and be brave enough to make a mistake. For some people, this is easy and exciting and for others, it\u2019s absolutely terrifying. You might not have a choice in a lot of things regarding learning Spanish, but you do<\/em> have control over your mindset. If you choose to view speaking to a stranger in Spanish as a terrifying task you have to get through, you\u2019re going to get less out of it than if you saw it as an exciting chance to make a friend. Similarly, if you see mistakes<\/a> as failure, you\u2019re going to be harder on yourself than if you see them as learning opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to get your mind back on track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
