Not only is it not true that only kids can learn a new language, there are even aspects that are easier for adults. Penn State researchers<\/a> compared 6 different components of language acquisition and found that overall, adults can be just as successful as children. Yes, some aspects may be more challenging for an adult than a child, such as acquiring a specific accent, but adults are much better at learning pragmatics or meaning in social interactions.
