At a dinner party, a nice lunch, or even a calm evening at home, it’s important to learn how to compliment the hard work your event host put into the food. While simple phrases like “Me gusta mucho” consigue transmitir que te gusta, puede resultar bastante repetitivo. Tampoco dice exactamente lo que te gusta del plato. Te daremos algunas frases que puedes añadir a tu vocabulario para impresionar a tu anfitrión en tu próximo evento.

En primer lugar, antes incluso de probar la comida, hay algunas formas de complementar al anfitrión nada más entrar por la puerta. Prueba algunas de ellas la próxima vez que visites a un amigo:

   • Esto es más fuerte que Me gusta(n) to show that you really like something! If you know the word in Spanish, that’s great! You can say Me encanta la lámparao si lo que te gusta es un sustantivo plural, Me encantan las decoraciones. Don’t worry, if you don’t know the word for something, you can always point and say Me encanta esto decir Me encanta.
2. Gracias por invitarme – Gracias por invitarme
   • Con un poco de amabilidad y aprecio se llega muy lejos. Demuestra que te alegras de estar ahí con este sencillo gesto.
3. Eres el/la mejor – You’re the best
   • Another easy way to show that you think they’re doing a great job. Since mejor va con ambos sexossólo tendrías que utilizar el o la, depending on the person’s gender.
