CONVERSA CONJUGATE SPANISH VERBS IN PRESENT

Online Activity: Conjugate Spanish Verbs in Present

As you can see in this online activity, verbs can belong to three different categories, and it depends on their infinitive form: -ar, -er or -ir. These are the three conjugations in Spanish. If you know the infinitive form of a regular verb in Spanish, then you can conjugate it.

And what’s the difference between -ar, -er and -ir verbs?

Remember: we are still talking about regular verbs. Pay attention to the example and the differences between conjugations:

Persona                1ª conjugación (-AR)              2ª conjugación (-ER)          3ª conjugación (-IR)

Infinitivo                              Preguntar                                    Responder                                      Vivir

Yo                                          Pregunto                                      Respondo                                        Vivo

Tú                                        Preguntas                                        Respondes                                    Vives

Él/ella                                  Pregunta                                       Responde                                        Vive

Nosotros                          Preguntamos                               Respondemos                              Vivimos

Vosotros                            Preguntáis                                     Respondéis                                    Vivís

Ellos                                    Preguntan                                     Responden                                    Viven

As you can see, only the word ending changes with the conjugation. That’s why it’s important to know its infinitive form.

First of all, you have to know which conjugation a verb belongs to. So let’s practice conjugated verbs in Spanish with this puzzle.
