Late Fall Vocabulary You Should Know

Fall, or el otoño in Spanish, is a season full of unique traditions and festivities. Fall can look very different depending on where in the world you are! Learning vocabulary related to this season will help you describe nature, holidays, and everyday activities in Spanish. It’ll help you talk about your own experiences and learn about those in the Spanish-speaking world.

1. Nature in Fall

  • Las hojas – Leaves
  • Los árboles – Trees
  • La calabaza – Pumpkin
  • El maíz – Corn

2. Weather in Fall

Don’t forget to use hace to describe the weather for most descriptions, except rain or snow.

  • Fresco/a – Cool
  • El viento – Wind
  • La lluvia – Rain
  • El sol de otoño – Autumn sun

3. Fall Clothing

  • El suéter – Sweater
  • La bufanda – Scarf
